Hi there gardeners, homesteaders, off-grid dwellers, and everyone in between. This is me with my first plants. Man, those things are resilient.
I cannot tell you how excited I was to start gardening. I'm one of those people who had way too many houseplants and having a little patch of soil to grow anything I could on it-the dream!
I started growing plants I knew would be hard to kill, like pumpkins. I also did peas, peppers, onions, and even tried my luck with tomatoes. I didn't get very far. They got to a respectable size but only a few fully ripened.
Starting with seeds and seeing them grow into mighty little seedlings in plastic cups, I brought them out into the sun and into the real world.
The success was mixed but I got things to grow and that makes me happy. This growing season I already expanded my herb garden by adding oregano, thyme, and rosemary. I'm giving tomatoes a second try and I'm adding broccoli, cauliflower, sweet potatoes, string beans, and cabbage.
